Short Description of the project
The goal of this project is to update the Internet Mapping project data developed for Clark County Department of Public Works (CCDPW) in a timely manner. The data are updated (as needed) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. The data include (but are not limited to) city boundaries, major streets, street center line data, schools, truck routes, pavement restoration projects, road projects, traffic capacity improvement project, 5-year no-cut projects, TRS (township, range and section), southwest valley projects, and projects which fall under the Utility Coordination Committee (UCC) layer. In addition, the task involves identifying alternate means to enhance the performance and display of project related data on the internet. The project will involve graduate and undergraduate students in the program who will develop specific skills and expertise in developing internet applications to display GIS-based data. The results will be disserminated at topical regional, national or international conferences or appropriate publications.
